This is exactly what you get when checking into the Ellis at Peachtree in Downtown Atlanta.

Arriving at Atlanta international terminal I took the courtesy shuttle to the transit hub where I purchased my 2.50$ MARTA ticket and boarded the MARTA train bringing me to the Peachtree transit center station in 20 minutes. Getting out of the station I immediately spotted the hotel and two minutes later I was warmly welcomed at the reception. My room on the 18th floor was already waiting.

Wow, the room was nicely furbished and for sure a big difference to the boring HI, Starwood, etc. rooms.  What an amazing view from the window viewing Centennial Olympic Park and the Atlanta Sky View wheel.

I took a shower in the meticulously clean bathroom and went straight for a nap in the large and comfy king bed.

On the next morning I went down for breakfast. It was 8 am and virtually nobody was in the restaurant. Also, the excellent buffet, a friend of mine recommended, wasn't there. Well it was the week before Christmas, the hotel almost empty and the staff just waiting for me of placing the order.

I ordered a light continental and was even more surprised when the friendly waiter returned within a couple of minutes carrying a large tray.  Wow, a freshly made fruit salat was waiting just for me, deliciously smelling blueberry muffins made me even more curious what the waiter was hiding in the porcelain bowl. Homemade Granola! I was yelling. I generally don't like American breakfast but when it comes to Granola I simply cannot stop, Oats, raisins and nuts mixed with honey and then slowly roasted in the oven are simply delicious.
